GSP: Mississippi Learning Tour
During the pandemic, Grantmakers for Southern Progress had to reconsider the format for what had previously been in-person learning tours intended to highlight the work of grassroots organizations that needed funding. We conducted over 12 hours of interviews which I distilled into a 45 minute documentary to be presented at their virtual convening. In addition to the footage that our videographers made, I filmed B-roll with an Argus Showmaster Super 8 camera, and to further enhance the analog feel of the project I used scanned archival maps to create a motion graphics suite. Projects for GSP have been some of the most fulfilling I've had the privilege to work on, and their mission of structural change making in the American south is deeply necessary.
