So fresh and so clean: a visual redesign of Atlanta's public transit
As my senior capstone, I undertook a redesign of Atlanta's public transit along the same lines of what Massimo Vignelli did for New York's subway in the 1960s. I drew a new map, wrote a graphic standards manual and designed a series of ads to run alongside this hypothetical redesign. The ads make use of hip-hop lyrics written by rappers from Atlanta and reappropriate them to talk about public transit, because of how vital Atlanta's hip-hop scene is to its culture. In this spirit, I have also put together a mixtape of a dozen or so rap songs (including those with verses I used on the ads, if Spotify had them) to be listened to as one rides MARTA.
